Locals in the area were noting an improvement in TV reception - never mind lying in, watching Sunday morning dross though, get outside and see what's on your roof!! This was the welcome sight - straight out of the car!!

Waxwings are well versed in the art of pose and this is position number one....
Position number two requires a side on approach, pluck a bery and sit with it in your bill for a second or two....
Have you ever wondered what a Waxwings tongue looks like? What, no? Well, it's a strange looking device but no doubt designed to manipulate a berry into position before firing it down the gullet.....
Of course I was tempted into trying to catch a 'berry toss' but didn't get the perfect one - these are for starters - if it turns out to be a long cold winter, who knows....
Robins should definitely be in Holly bushes at this time of year!
The day was rounded off with the VP Bittern, the dusk display was capped by the amusing sight of it roosting up in the Willow branches behind the reedbed!! OK it was virtually dark - atmospheric record shot!
What with a flushed Jack Snipe yesterday (nice one Andy) and today's newcomers, the Shropshire year list is now firmly in uncharted territory - 170 - and still counting??? Andy is closing in on the record year total of 175 with 174.....
