Scilly day 13 - Peninnis - delightful Blyth's Pipit

The ether was buzzing with reports of the Blyth's Pipit showing delightfully well' at Peninnis from first thing! It had flown out of the fields adjacent to the coast path by the time I got there.... over to King Edwards Road. After 10 minutes, I opted to yomp round there and guess what - it was still there..... for 30 seconds before flying back to the coast path fields. Grrrrr, I eventually went back and guess what...it never moved from the field s there for a couple of hours :-)

Great view and showing well but it took time to the bird out in the open and showing OK for images!
Constantly moving quickly in short burst....

Often adopting this upright alert posture!

More angles....

Another caterpillar down the hatch!

The closest approach and really well lit:-)

Fantastic bird, completely different to the 2014 one in the 'showiness' stakes!
