Scilly day 11 - Red-flanked Bluetail

With some cracking images coming out from the previous afternoon, I had high hopes of a productive session with the Red-flanked Bluetail on St Agnes. News came out early - it was still there :-)

A big gallery was to gather however and in the confines of the small bulb enclosures, it showed well but rarely threatened to enter the feather detail zone!

Using the Pittosporum as a vantage point for insect forays....

It kept to margins today!

The only place it did show well was on the hedge enclosed pathway between the fields. It would come to within 5 metres - great viewing but not helpful for photography!

This was the only half decent image of the session.

If it sticks - I might well give this another go!!!
