Cheddar reservoir - Lesser Yellowlegs pt 2

With plenty of 'nice pose' images on the card, time to concentrate on something a bit different? The water was pretty calm apart from the ripples made by the feeding Lesser Yellowlegs but half decent reflection shots were soon forthcoming...

Wonder if they ever admire their own reflection?

You gotta love the legs which is what this wader is all about!

Not exactly action but captured in mid-preen...

And whilst I missed this brief flight, got a couple of landing shots with wings outstretched...

Finally, I spent a fair bit of time trying to get a good association with the strange 'white stuff'. I presume it's simply a bleached underwater weed, now stranded in the open and not too happy about the sunlight!? It never seemed to walk in the spot I was hoping for, grrrr...

It certainly added foreground interest to the normally stark concrete environment?

The white stuff in close up.

Plus the object of my desire...

That's it then, cracking wader and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!

Two Great White Egrets were also present but way out of range and wildfowl numbers building up nicely. Presumably the water levels will get an added boost - if it ever rains again?
