Longnor - No dipping today

Opportunities for bird photography have been limited of late - either I've been busy or the birds have been doing disappearing acts! Today, it all clicked into place (with Great grey Shrike at Bircher Common the ultimate quarry.)

Firstly, no travel via the South of the County is complete without a call at Longnor and for once, both Dippers were on view!

Most obligingly and rather than flying downstream, they proceeded to dip as Dippers do for food in the shallow torrent.

One in a rather precarious spot above the weir......

The other - in the stream - slow shutter speed adding to the interest from the foamy water.

Onwards then to Bircher Common, eyes upward......
